Exotic Travel And Living

Most individuals have the urge to travel. They want to take adventures to far off lands and see new things. Things that they feel are unattainable in some way if they remain within their country's borders. I'm not really one of these people. I love the USA, and am so glam I was born here. I would like to see what the 50 states have to offer before I take a flight all the way to some foreign region that lacks the food I like. What's so special about exotic travel anyway? No offense, but I think the dream is over-rated.

Lately we've seen plenty of horror stories regarding foreign countries. Americans travel to far off places only to discover a terrible fate. Take the young lady who went missing in Aruba for instance. Now, first of all, she clearly used poor judgment. However, this is generally to be expected of someone her age. This doesn't change the fact that her parents lost their little baby. They're the ones I have sympathy for. I can't even imagine what that would be like. But let's take a closer look at this situation. A young American girl ventures of to an exotic destination. Just like all folks stoked for exotic travel, she was raring to have fun and cut loose. She probably wanted to see all the country had to offer. The problem here is the fact that she's a foreigner now. Aruba is not her country, and she is merely a visitor/tourist. To me this equals "not very important to the authorities." Any American can tell you that we treat our locals better than some foreigner who's in for a visit. I imagine all countries are like this. Unless you're some rich, famous, or political figure, they're not going to pull out all stops to find your child. Why would they? So basically it comes down to safety. I can't say that I feel safe in any other country like I do in my own.

If you've been paying attention, they just began tossing Aruba ads on the television again. Promising those who choose exotic travel will be basking in an island resort comparable to heaven. Now, before you choose some exotic vacation spot to spend your spring break, I'd do a bit of research first. Oh, and make sure the US is going to let you back in upon your return.
